Aquila Interactive has made the choice to implement a remote work policy. As a new player in the game publishing sector, we feel remote work will offer many benefits to our employees and company-wide goals.
We believe working from home is the future. The past few years of the pandemic have proven that employees can work from home successfully and efficiently. Furthermore, Aquila has found that top talent often values this flexibility. As we look to expand our workforce in the future, we expect to fill the roles with top talent regardless of physical location.
Our core team members are based around the globe. The many technologies available now for workplace productivity and collaboration have created an environment where our employees can be both more productive and satisfied on the job with a better work/life balance.
On the technical/HR side of working with Aquila, we partner with an employer of record (EOR) to ensure our employees are fully employed in compliance with local legislation. We are using an EOR to handle onboarding, employment verification, employee benefits, and payroll. The employees of Aquila Interactive are employed on paper in their own country of residence, yet officially working for Aquila headquartered in Hong Kong. Given this flexibility offered by the employer of record, we are able to fill positions in many locations around the world, regardless of geographical boundaries.
Additionally, the reduced commute time and the opportunity to work from home (or a cafe)—in Stockholm, London, Hong Kong, Paris, or beachside at your favorite vacation spot—affords us more time to dedicate to our personal lives and hobbies whether gaming, fishing, running, exploring, learning other languages, or playing the saxophone. And, being gamers ourselves, we often have already leveled up our desks with the most comfortable, ergonomic, and high-performance gear. Therefore, where could we be more productive than in our own natural habitat?
